Grades 3–8 · A hands-on technology field trip
“I'm Kip. I'll be your guide. I've been here since a game had four colors.”
Hey.
I'm Kip. I teach five-year-olds how artificial intelligence works, which means I spend a lot of time explaining very large ideas to very small people. I've been around since a computer filled a room and the internet made a sound.
On November 13th, eight hundred students take over an arena in Douglasville. I'd like you to bring some of them.
“Yes, the internet used to make a sound. Ask any adult. They can still do it with their mouth.”

A whole generation fell in love with technology because somebody made it feel like magic. A volcano on a tri-fold poster board. A cartoon about a kid with a secret laboratory. The family radio, in pieces on the carpet, ten minutes before anyone noticed.
That's where it started for most of you.
They don't.
Your students were born inside it. They have never known a world without a screen in reach, which means technology stopped feeling like anything at all. It's just the glass in their hand.
You cannot fall in love with wallpaper.

So we built this.
One school day. Eight hundred students, third through eighth grade. Forty years of technology laid out across an arena floor, and every single thing on it is meant to be touched.
They'll start with the machines their teachers grew up on. They'll finish having trained an AI, flown a drone, and taken a real device apart with real tools.
Every zone is wheelchair accessible, adapted stations are available at each one, and a sensory-friendly quiet room is open all day including during the opening show.

Tech THEN, in your hands
Rotary phones they have to figure out how to dial. Game Boys with no backlight. A typewriter that fights back. Cassettes, floppy disks, and original consoles set to free play. Your teacher is going to lose their mind in here.

Cartoons were the first place a lot of us saw a kid build something impossible. Students design their own character, record its voice, and watch how animation went from thousands of hand-drawn pages to tools that draw alongside you.

The tri-fold poster board is back and it is undefeated. Erupting volcanoes, chain reactions, things that change color when nobody expects it. Students aren't watching the demo. They're running it.

Top Gun meets STEM
Real drones, real controllers, real flying. Start in the beginner cage where crashing is allowed, move to the simulators, and if you're good enough, qualify for the racing finals on the main stage.

Step into tomorrow
Put on a headset and go somewhere that isn't Douglasville. Stand on Mars. Sink to the ocean floor. Walk around inside a beating human heart. Then take the headset off and be mildly annoyed about it.

Make the machine your teammate
Everybody talks about AI. Almost nobody has actually made one do something. Students train a small model, make something that did not exist that morning, and find out what these tools are genuinely good at and where they fall down.

Take it apart, put it back
Real screwdrivers, real devices, real permission. Find out what's actually inside a keyboard. Build a circuit that lights up. Watch a 3D printer make something from nothing while you wait.

Build it, then play it
Design a game with no code, then hand the controller to somebody else and watch them play the thing you just made. That moment is why people become developers.

If a kid can't DO something at a booth within ninety seconds, it doesn't get floor space. Vendors, partners, sponsors — everybody. No brochure tables. No look-but-don't-touch. It's why students remember what they touched.

EXPERIMENT ZERO // 9:00 AM // 40 MINUTES
World Tech Day starts with a live show. Not an assembly. A show.
There's a machine on stage that's been broken for forty years, and the only thing that can power it is eight hundred kids making noise. Two hosts try to fix it: a professor who was brilliant in 1985 and hasn't updated since, and a student who actually knows how any of this works.
To repair it they travel through four eras of technology, and the audience helps at every stop. Your students will be shouting answers, voting on outcomes, and at one point becoming the moving parts of a working computer. A few teachers get pulled on stage. Dress for that possibility.
It ends with the machine turning on, a drone light show over the floor, and the Mayor of Douglasville reading the World Tech Day proclamation. Then the doors open and the floor is yours.

Teachers: a complete run-of-show, including every audience participation moment and the teacher volunteer segment, is sent with your booking confirmation. Nothing on this stage will surprise you. Only your students.

World Tech Day is for third through eighth grade. High schoolers don’t attend.
High schoolers run it.
We hand-select a crew from schools across the region to fly the demo drones, coach third graders through their first AI model, and keep the robot battles from becoming actual battles.
